Among the oldest, largest, and most-active volunteer search and rescue teams in the United States. 2020 Statistics ACTIVE MEMBERS MISSIONS MISSION HOURS MISSION MILES King County Search & Rescue’s Citizen First Responders deliver an estimated $8,000,000 in public safety value to Washington State each year. In 2020, volunteers responded to 15% more call-outs and devoted 18% more hours responding to search and rescue calls than in 2019. Our volunteers reunite families and save lives Join Us We do much more than find lost hikers Wilderness Rescues Urban Missing Persons Police Evidence Searches Disaster Response Recoveries Safety Education Our units are deployed by the King County Sheriff’s Office. Our volunteers are registered Emergency Workers with the Washington State Department of Emergency Management. Specialized Units Working Together Each unit within the King County Search and Rescue Association is a separate 501c3 nonprofit organization.
